Working with children has been something I have had an interest in from a young age. I grew up with my mother home-schooling us in the mornings and running an in-home day care during the days. The exposure I had to care-providing started off an interest in education and caregiving that has included work as a babysitter, camp counselor, reading specialist, and teacher. I love to watch, listen to, inspire, and learn from children as they develop their own individual ideas and pursuits. I thoroughly enjoy the privilege of getting to teach and nurture children from infant to school-age.

I believe children thrive on opportunity and choice. It is my goal to create safe, sensory environments for them to explore their creativity and curiosity about the natural, artistic, and social world around them. I also believe that in order to thrive, children must rely on a structured set of consistently reinforced behavior expectations and etiquette. My caregiving philosophy is to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow and explore, while also instilling social skills that will allow them to be contributing member of their communities.

TeacherCaregiver, Reston, Virginia

The majority of my employment history has  been directly centered around serving children and their families. The opportunity to be employed full-time as a Teacher-Caregiver is truly my dream job. I am happiest when I am able to help young children flourish
physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The key to instill positive goals and values is to demonstrate them myself. Respect, honesty, caring for others, and being a life-long learner are all qualities I try to represent as well as directly teach through stories and daily application.

TeacherCaregiver, Los Angeles, California

I want to educate and influence children in order to provide them with the opportunities that every child
deserves. I want to create an enriching  educational experience that is enjoyable and meaningful. I love working with children and am intrigued by children’s emotional, behavioral or cognitive development.

I believe that movement, kinesthetic learning and the arts are an integral part of education. I think it is important for children to read fictional and non-fictional literature to enhance their language related skills. I think that respect is very important in the student/teacher relationship. My goal is to make learning fun and interesting so that it is meaningful and able to be retained!

TeacherCaregiver, New York, New York

I enjoy interacting with children, and I am honored to help shape the lives of the next generation.  I have a strong passion to educate young minds and to help students grow to be well-rounded, responsible, caring, and successful individuals.

I teach a variety of subjects (reading, writing, science, history, math) whereby I encourage students to explore, investigate, and develop a passion for learning.  Students are given a balanced education and a well-rounded preparation for continued education and life experiences.
I encourage students to be responsible by keeping them accountable for their choices.  They clearly understand that both positive and negative choices and consequences go hand in hand.  Under my instruction, students learn how to be responsible with/for their time, materials, assignments, words, and actions.
I invite students to be a part of a learning community that emphasizes respect and teamwork.  Under my care, students learn how to work and play together, encourage and respect each other, communicate positively, and resolve conflicts.
I encourage my students to work toward their full potential by setting high expectations.  I provide a structured learning environment whereby students know what is expected of them and how best to achieve their goals.  I believe that all students can be successful!

TeacherCaregiver, Elgin, Illinois

I want to be a Teacher-Caregiver because I believe that every person should become a life-long learner. The study habits and knowledge seeking starts early and it is the role of the teacher to present content in a way that excites and challenges the child. The opportunity to tailor lessons and activities to one student is what I have been looking for in a teaching position. In the past I have found ways to differentiate learning to multiple students, all with different learning styles and abilities. I cannot wait for the opportunity to work one-on-one with a child and make a long lasting impact on his or her educational journey.
